In the second quarter of 2021, the top 5 carpooling and ridesharing apps in Costa Rica showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app based on data from Sensor Tower.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a relatively stable trend in weekly downloads, peaking at around 11.4K in the last week of June. The app maintained a consistent number of weekly active users, growing from approximately 156K at the end of March to nearly 177K by the end of June.

Uber - Request a ride saw an increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 6.8K and reaching up to 9.4K by the end of June. The weekly active users also showed a steady rise from nearly 198K to approximately 231K over the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a notable peak in downloads mid-April with around 5.3K, followed by fluctuations throughout the quarter, ending at about 4.1K. The active users had slight variations, generally maintaining around 100K to 110K throughout the quarter.

DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash showed a varied trend in weekly downloads, peaking at nearly 2.2K in mid-April. The weekly active users remained fairly stable, fluctuating between 25K and 28K.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver exhibited consistent download numbers, ranging from around 897 to 1.3K throughout the quarter. The active users showed slight variations, generally staying around 19K to 21K.
